Egyptian Jewellery Brand Takes Us Back Home To The Motherland

Jewellery brand Kiro, famously gained popularity on TikTok as users went crazy for their custom map necklaces and felt recognised through their pieces.

Egyptian founder, Ranim Taha, is the creative force behind Kiro a jewellery brand which focuses on Egyptian heritage. From the Nefertiti necklace to the River Nile ring, Kiro creatively explores the history of Egypt and brings it to life through every piece.

Kiro quickly earned recognition through their custom map necklaces in the era of wanting to wear your homeland around your neck, focusing on those under-represented countries, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and later releasing custom mixed country necklaces for those from multiple backgrounds.

After the virality of the brand, Kiro is now the home of multiple premium pieces.

Back in 2021, I came across Kiro on TikTok, and as a lover of gold jewellery myself, I will always be won over by affordable gold-lasting pieces, which is exactly what Kiro offers. I placed my order on the Sudan map necklace and have not taken it off ever since. After 3 years, it has remained gold and in perfect condition.

I can most certainly say it’s been a conversation starter for many (now) friends, strangers, and followers on my social media pages. With some wanting to know where I got it from and others trying to guess my ethnicity.

As Kiro grows, Ranim continues to keep incorporating her rich Egyptian heritage into her brand, honouring the country that is affectionately called "Um al-Dunya," the mother of the world, and showcasing the various cultures of other nations that are represented through her jewellery designs.

One thing is clear: it's more than just a jewellery brand, it's a celebration of culture, heritage, and the universal desire to engage with something meaningful.
